Co-op moves to take all of Federation
The Co-op is understood to have executed its option to take the entirety of the 71,000 sq ft Federation office in Manchester’s NOMA for its tech staff, extending the lease it currently has across two floors of the building.
The Co-op announced earlier this year that it would be moving its digital team, made up of staff working in online product development, into 16,000 sq ft in the nine-storey former textile warehouse.
Federation sits within the Co-op’s 20-acre NOMA estate, owned in a joint venture with Hermes Investment Management.
Co-op Digital occupies the fifth and sixth floors. The company is not expected to expand into the rest of the building, but instead intends to provide co-working space for organisations in its supply chain, building a community of tech users.
Work began next door to Federation in October at another office refurbishment, the Dantzic building, which totals 65,400 sq ft. Occupiers expressing interest in Federation are now being redirected towards Dantzic.
Colliers International and JLL are joint agents on Federation and Dantzic.
