Claremont dinner for colleague lost to SADS

Colin HankinWarrington-based Claremont Group Interiors is hosting a fundraising dinner in aid of a colleague lost to Sudden Adult Death Syndrome.

Colin Hankin joined Claremont in 2000 aged 17 and died from Sudden Adult Death Syndrome two days after his 18th birthday.

Ann Malone, associate director of Claremont Group Interiors, said: "Colin would have celebrated his 30th birthday this October and we wanted to mark the occasion with an event in his honour. His mother, Angela Morris and I felt the most fitting tribute was to bring family, friends and supporters together to raise some much needed cash for SADS UK."

The money will be used to buy defibrillators for schools in Warrington.

In 2007 Claremont Group Interiors raised more than £9,000 for SADS UK which was used to buy heart monitors for two GP surgeries in Warrington.

The fundraising dinner will take place in The Buckley Suite at Warrington Collegiate College on 18 October at 7pm. The three-course meal, including coffee, is priced at £20, with £10 going to directly to SADS UK and the remainder to the college to cover the food.

Don’t really know much about the company, but it speaks volumes that over a decade after their employee passed away, they’re still doing things to honour his memory and create a legacy.
