Cimex opens Manchester office to serve BBC

Digital agency, Cimex, has opened an office in Bruntwood's Portland Tower with support from the Hello Manchester initiative for inward investors.

Phil Horn, who will head the new office, said: "Manchester has always had a vibrant creative scene and is now an exciting digital hub, perfect for Cimex to expand its footprint."

Cimex will receive one desk for 12 months rent-free in fully serviced accommodation. There are more than a dozen sites in the region offering the incentive scheme.

The London-based agency plans to open further regional offices around the country in the next three years.

Steve Puxley, managing director of Cimex, said: "With the ongoing move of the BBC Children's, Learning and Future Media departments to Manchester we wanted to be able to offer our contacts there the level of support they have been used to."

Colin Sinclair, chief executive of inward investment agency Midas, which assisted on the opening, said: "Manchester's creative, media and digital sector continues to grow, with Cimex the latest addition to this flourishing sector. The Hello Manchester scheme is already proving a great success, and we look forward to continuing our close working relationship with Phil and his new team as they establish themselves in the city region."
