Christmas signings flurry at Liverpool One
There are 10 new retailer stores opening in Grosvenor's Liverpool One shopping district before Christmas.
In addition to George Davies opening his latest fashion store GIVe yesterday, those opening before Christmas include:
- Ollie & Nic
- Reiss
- Habitat
- David M Robinson, opening its third shop in the city
- Menkind
- Red Hot World Buffet
- Toy store, The Entertainer, opening on 10 October
- The Gym Group
- Whistles
Hair care store Aveda will open a store in January and a further six more retailers are opening in 2010, which are soon to be announced.
Since Grosvenor completed the city centre development a year ago, Liverpool One has opened 127 retail and leisure outlets, amidst closures nationwide on the high street. Grosvenor has seen only three closures due to administrations.
Footfall in Liverpool One is up 31% compared to this time last year, 18% across the city centre.
Yesterday, Grosvenor celebrated the first anniversary of the opening of the second phase of the scheme in October 2008.
Chris Bliss, estates director at Grosvenor, said in a statement: "Liverpool One now attracts over 2 million visitors a month, and has welcomed over 23 million shoppers. We have helped address years of under investment in the city and have filled a gap for a strong retail and leisure offering in Liverpool."
