Chiesi relocates UK HQ to Manchester Green

The pharmaceutical company has signed for an 18,500 sq ft building at the South Manchester business park, shortly after landlord Barwood's speculative refurbishment of the property.

Chiesi will move from its current UK headquarters in Cheadle Royal Business Park, and will join existing tenants Capita and Ingredio at Manchester Green.

Barwood North, headed by ex-Patrick Properties managing director Andrew Dickman, acquired the 107,000 sq ft Greencourts Business Park office scheme near Manchester Airport from Standard Life Investments for an undisclosed sum in June 2013.

Barwood is currently on site with the refurbishment of the 15,000 sq ft Building 3, and once complete will refurbish the 25,000 sq ft Building 1.

Dickman said: "The letting to Chiesi reaffirms the underlying benefits of the scheme and its location and rewards the confidence shown by Barwood in speculatively refurbishing and remodelling this office park to place it at the forefront of the South Manchester office market."

Canning O'Neill acted for Barwood and JLL acted on behalf of Chiesi.
