Chester practice adds architect

Base Architecture & Design has added to its Cheshire team, hiring Rachel O’Hare from Sheppard Robson as it looks to double the size of its office.

Base opened its offices in Christleton Road a year ago and said it is expanding to cater for increasing demand across Cheshire, the North West and North Wales as it delivers 40 projects for clients.

Rachel O’Hare is the latest to join the Chester-based team and an architectural technologist is joining later this month, bringing the total staff in the North West to six.

O’Hare has experience ranging from large commercial projects including the concept design for the £11.5m Beacon Centre at Blackburn College to smaller housing developments in Kensington & Chelsea, London.

Director Harry Reece said: “We established the Chester office so we could better serve our clients in Cheshire, the North West and Wales. It has been an incredibly successful move as we have seen a marked rise in enquiries and commissions.

“The extra space in our expanded office and the addition of talented new architects to our team will support the growth we’ve already experienced and give us a head start with any future expansion.”
