Cheshire East seeks £81k regeneration boss

The post of head of regeneration in the new Cheshire East Council is now being advertised.

Recruitment consultant Gatenby Sanderson has been hired to fill the position for the new unitary authority, which replaces half of Cheshire County Council and the boroughs of Macclesfield, Crewe & Nantwich and Congleton from April next year.

A second unitary authority, Cheshire West & Chester, replaces the remainder of Cheshire and Vale Royal, Ellesmere Port & Neston and Chester at the same time.

The £81,000/year regeneration director of Cheshire East will assume control of highways and transportation, visitor economy, and economic development.

Last month, Cheshire East's first chief executive, Erika Wenzel, formerly director of neighbourhood and community services at Tameside council, took up her post.
