Chemical firm expands in Birchwood

United Phosphorus, a producer of crop protection and industrial chemicals, has nearly doubled its presence at MEPC Birchwood Park.

The firm has been at the Warrington park since 1999 and has relocated from Chadwick House to a 4,575 sq ft office situated on the first floor of Birchwood Park's conference and meetings venue, the Centre.

United Phosphorus now employs 25 staff in Birchwood, which serves as the company's European head office, supporting satellites in Denmark, France, Germany, Italy, Poland and Spain.

Jonathan Walsh, MEPC Birchwood Park's managing director, believes 2012 will be the park's best year yet. He said: "The deal marks a strong start to a year during which we will begin construction of the final phase of our flagship 250,000 sq ft Bridgewater Place office scheme, becoming one of the first companies to commit to new development in the region. With this new build, we look forward to welcoming more companies like United Phosphorus where our flexibility supports their growth and success."

The Centre contains meeting rooms, a 150-seated lecture theatre, a restaurant and café, gym and health centre as well as offices.
