Cheetham & Mortimer to help Brantano expand
Shoe chain Brantano has appointed Manchester-based retail and leisure agent Cheetham & Mortimer to acquire sites for new stores throughout the North of England and North Wales.
Cheetham & Mortimer will be retained by the footwear specialist to carry out the work, which forms part of the company's three-year expansion strategy.
The target is to acquire 30 new stores across the UK over the next 12 months.
Stephen Perrett, partner at Cheetham & Mortimer, said: "The company is seeking stores ranging from approximately 5,000 to 7,500 sq ft, predominantly on retail parks.
"We have extensive experience of advising retailers in this sector, so have the industry knowledge and contacts to ensure Brantano can deliver its strategy.
"Our other retained clients, including Boots and M&S Simply Food are also actively acquiring stores on retail parks, and this instruction sits well with our existing work in this area."
Brantano currently has 150 stores in the UK and is the largest out-of-town footwear retailer, selling over five million items per year.
Brantano's retained agent in the South is Harvey Spack Field and in Scotland it is Eric Young & Co.
