Chan on board at Bowker Sadler

After five years as studio director managing ADP’s Newcastle-upon-Tyne studio, Anita Chan has joined Stockport practice Bowker Sadler Architecture.

Chan joins at director level, joining existing directors Alan Sadler, Colin Leith, Paul Jeffrey and Dan Labella and is tasked primarily with developing the studio’s education portfolio.

She brings more than 22 years of experience to the practice, having worked at FaulknerBrown, Ellis Williams and GWK in addition to her time at ADP. Chan has also worked for Hong Kong’s Mass Transit Railway Corporation on a station accessibility project.

Other projects include the noted Jesmond Gardens educational scheme, for which she was project architect; along with playing a key role in the bid and design approach for Spanish City, a regeneration and heritage development for Whitley Bay.

“I’m hugely excited to return to the North West and for the opportunity to build on Bowker Sadler’s already excellent and established brand,” Chain said. “This is an exciting time for the practice and I am thrilled to be a part of it.”

Alan Sadler added: “Anita joins at a time when Bowker Sadler continue to grow, having recently expanded our commercial portfolio, supplementing the core activities of large scale residential based regeneration, education and healthcare projects.”
