Cert buys in Salford Quays

Manchester investor and developer Cert Property has completed the acquisition of a 15,000 sq ft building in Salford Quays, which had been marketed by Cushman & Wakefield for offers in excess of £1.5m.

The building formerly housed the offices of the vendor on this deal, the trade union Unite, and has now been rebranded as The Junction. Cert has instigated a refurbishment programme and will offer space ranging from suites of 150 sq ft to whole floors at 3,000 sq ft.

Prices start at £175 per desk for fully serviced accommodation and £15 per sq ft for traditionally leased space.

Howard Lord, managing director of Cert, said: “This is an important acquisition for us as it fits perfectly within our strategy to create a new way of flexible working.

“As the working world continues to evolve, we have recognised the growing demand for adaptable and serviced office accommodation and one of main aims for this year is to deliver a number of new office solutions across the north of England.”

“We are already in serious talks with several potential occupiers and are confident that we will be able to announce our first deal in the next few days.”

B1 Real Estate has been retained as sole letting agent.
