CECA vice-chair role for Eric Wright’s Bourne

Diane Bourne, the Preston-based Eric Wright group's site support manager, has been appointed vice-chair and treasurer of the Civil Engineering Contractors Association's North West regional board.

The organisation, which represents civil engineering companies across the region, provides information and advice to members on issues affecting the industry.

Bourne, who has worked with civil engineering and construction specialists the Eric Wright Group for 13 years, is based at the company's head office at Bamber Bridge and is responsible for quality, health and safety and environmental standards across the company's civil engineering and construction divisions.

She said: "With so many issues impacting on civil engineering at present, from sustainability to the skills shortage, it's important for people working within the industry to have a forum like CECA through which to share best practice and debate the issues affecting them. At Eric Wright Group we are in the fortunate position of having both civil engineering and construction divisions in house, allowing us to take a wider view of each discipline's role within the development life cycle. I look forward to sharing this knowledge and promoting the activities of CECA in the North West through my new role as vice-chair."
