CBRE secures two more lettings at Aurora

Two companies have taken around 67,000 sq ft of space at Stockport’s council-developed Aurora industrial park, joining existing occupiers Baumüller and Aeroco Group.

The largest of the deals is from CAF Rail UK, which is taking 47,200 sq ft of space, the largest unit at the development. The facility with be the company’s first North West manufacturing base and will work alongside its office, based at Manchester Airport. It is expected CAF will create 30 new jobs at Aurora.

The second letting is for Anglian Windows, which has taken 15,400 sq ft to use as a production facility for conservatories, doors, and windows.

Late last year, two other lettings at Aurora were confirmed, including aircraft maintenance firm Aeroco Group which signed a deal for 20,500 sq ft of space. The company works with Jet2, EasyJet and Thomas Cook, and like CAF, already has a base at the airport.

Electro-mechanical engineer Baumüller also agreed to move into two units totalling 19,200 sq ft.

The business park off Brinksway near Junction 1 of the M60 was completed in December last year by contractor Seddon in a £12m build. CBRE is the council’s letting agent for the development, which includes a total of 147,000 sq ft of space across 10 units. These range between 8,700 sq ft and 47,000 sq ft in size.

CBRE said there were four units remaining at the site.

Steve Capper of CBRE said: “This is a fantastic scheme offering high quality accommodation in an excellent location and it is no surprise that so much of the estate has been let prior to completion.  With only four units remaining and demand still strong I fully expect the estate to be fully let in the coming months”.

Cllr Kate Butler, Stockport Council’s cabinet member for economy and regeneration said: “Aurora Stockport’s success so far has more than matched our expectations. I am delighted about this and that so many companies are choosing it as the home from which they want to grow their business.

“As each of these businesses grows, new jobs will be created that local residents will be able to benefit from, showing once again how the investment work taking place across Stockport is bringing new opportunities for everyone.”

In further good news for the Stockport market, the 8,855 sq ft Unit 13 at S:Park has been let to motor dealer Guy Salmon, part of the Sytner Group. The three-year lease was agreed at £7.05 per sq ft by Chapman Law, joint agent with GVA for the private landlord.
