CBRE industrial team lands 1.8m sq ft of new instructions

CB Richard Ellis's North West industrial agency team was instructed to sell or let over 1.8m sq ft of industrial space during the past two months.

The new instructions, many coming forward as a result of the shrinking economy, include 375,000 sq ft in Warrington; a 360,000 sq ft warehouse at the Jupiter site in Trafford Park; 340,000 sq ft at Force 6 distribution park in Newton le Willows; 275,000 sq ft at Winsford industrial estate; 270,000 sq ft at Stadium Industry Park in St Helens and 250,000 sq ft at Walkden 61 distribution facility near Bolton.

Tom Davis, senior director in industrial agency, said: "Businesses are still on the hunt for the right location at the right specification and as long as landlords remain flexible, more deals will be done in the coming months."

Howard George, also a senior director at CBRE, added: "We currently have a number of high profile occupiers looking at these facilities, however, we now need to see this activity filter down to the 'bread-and-butter', multi-let estates, for us to see a real recovery. It is essential that smaller occupiers have a renewed confidence in the economy and access to credit for them to take the plunge and move into new premises."
