Chris Davies has joined engineering, environmental and planning consultancy Caulmert from Capita as director of project management.
Davies will be based in the St Asaph, North Wales, office. He has 25 years’ experience in the construction sector, and was formerly business director at professional support service firm Capita. Prior to that he was head of property and assets at Denbighshire County Council, where he led an 80-strong team of professional, technical and support staff managing the local authority’s property portfolio. Davies is also chairman of Constructing Excellence in Wales, North Wales Best Practice Club.
Previous roles have also included managing private and public construction projects for clients such as the Welsh Government, DWP, Ministry of Defence, Gwrp Llandrillo Coleg, Superdrug and Lidl.
Caulmert employs 80 people across offices in Bangor, St Asaph, Altrincham and Eastwood in the Midlands.
The firm, founded in 2009, turned over more than £2m in the past 12 months.
Davies said: “Caulmert has provided a great opportunity for me to focus on project management and reinforce this aspect of the business.
“I’ll be taking a hands-on role with a number of projects and sharing my experience with the rest of the team.
“I’m looking forward to playing a part in both continuing the company’s growth and developing the skills-base of the workforce here.”
Caulmert is recruiting for several other skilled positions, including infrastructure and structural engineers, structural detailers, and town planners.
