Cassidy + Ashton appoints senior architect

The architectural, building surveying and planning consultancy has hired Susan McBain as senior architect in its Chester office.

McBain joined the firm after spending 12 years at local practice Tweed Nuttall Warburton where she worked on projects including the remodelling of Helsby High School and Cheshire County Council's Sure Start Programme.

Cassidy + Ashton will use McBain's education expertise to expand its offering in the sector as well as to tap into growth industries, including residential and care.

Alistair Baines, chairman at Cassidy + Ashton, said: "Susan has a strong track record welcoming an architect of her calibre is a major coup for the business.

"She brings a core understanding of our business and marketplace and will play a vital role as we enter the next phase of our evolution."
