Carlisle Glass sells surplus site

Lappet Manufacturing has acquired the former Carlisle Glass Warehousing & Trade Counter Centre in Carlisle.

The site was sold by Carlisle Glass to the specialist weaving company from Garstang for approximately £1.5m.

The site consists of a large trade counter unit and offices, both located within the original mill building. In addition, there is 60,000 sq ft of warehousing on a 2.37 acre site next door.

Mike Redshaw, director at Nolan Redshaw, advised Lappet Manufacturing. He said: "This recent acquisition allows our client to increase their manufacturing capability and expand one of their satellite factories, which adjoins Carlisle Glass. The deal is highly significant, as it demonstrates that certain sectors of UK manufacturing are doing extremely well."
