Capita’s Barrow plans revealed

Cumbria County Council, Barrow Borough Council and Capita Symonds have revealed the first glimpse of their plans for the £2m redevelopment of Barrow town centre.

Improved street surfaces and public spaces around the town's main shopping thoroughfares, are just some of the elements being incorporated into the scheme. Other proposals include contemporary street furniture and lighting, improved cycle storage, tree planting, and plans for improved bus routes through the town centre.

The project was backed by town centre traders at a meeting held earlier this month.
