Capital & Centric’s Bunker approved

Developer Capital & Centric has received planning permission from Liverpool City Council for the first phase of the redevelopment of the former Littlewoods Pools site in Edge Lane.

Work will start later this year on the £4m conversion of a derelict warehouse dubbed the Bunker into 18 office suites for small and medium-sized businesses totalling 17,500 sq ft. Capital & Centric acquired the building in April from the Homes & Communities Agency.

The developer's wider plan for the Littlewoods Pools building includes a 104-bed hotel, 50,000 sq ft of business units and 50,000 sq ft of offices. Plans were approved for the Littlewoods Pools building under a separate planning application in March 2013.

Office suites at the Bunker, designed by Shedkm, will range in size from 320 sq ft to 600 sq ft.

The derelict building is close to the Littlewoods Pools building and a new access is being created for it.
