Capital & Centric seeks industrial contractor

The Manchester-based developer is inviting bids from prospective construction partners for its 20,000 sq ft Lightbox scheme in Birkenhead, Wirral.

The project will deliver six units of offices and warehousing on a one-acre brownfield site, aimed at offshore wind energy occupiers.

Capital & Centric has signed a gap funding agreement with the Regional Growth Fund for almost £900,000 to speculatively develop the units. The overall project value is £1.5m.

This development will be Capital & Centric's fourth recent workspace project in the North West following the completion of 80,000 sq ft at Estuary Banks and 60,000 sq ft at Speke Business Park. Work on the 40,000 sq ft Hangar project, also located in Speke, is due to start on site in November.

Planning approval for the Lightbox was received in August, with Capital & Centric expecting to start on site in November.

The architect on the scheme is SixTwo. The agents are B8 Real Estate and CBRE.

The deadline for applications is 19 September.
