Capital & Centric names Seddon on Hangar

The Manchester-based developer has appointed Seddon as the contractor on its £3m speculative development at Estuary Commerce Park in Speke.

The four-acre site, which was purchased from the Homes & Communities Agency in December 2014, will be home to 40,000 sq ft of office and warehouse accommodation, including laboratory, research and development space targeted towards small to medium sized enterprises.

The space will be delivered across two blocks, Hangar 1 and 2.

The European Regional Development Fund provided gap funding of £1.42m towards the scheme. The project is designed to achieve BREEAM Excellent rating.

Adam Higgins, director of Capital & Centric, said: "It is fantastic to be on site with another speculative scheme for the region, our fourth live construction site. We've focused on energy efficiency, interesting design and high quality construction. We're confident we will attract some exciting, fast growing businesses to the development that will fit right in with the surrounding organisations."

Capital & Centric acted for themselves to purchase the land. Zerum is appointed as consultant project managers and employers agent. Fletcher Rae is the architect. Letting agents are CBRE and JLL.
