Capita travel arm takes 14,500 sq ft in Stockport

Capita Travel & Events, the part of the services giant that deals with business travel and event services, has relocated its regional head office to Regent House, Stockport.

In a 14,500 sq ft deal, it has taken the whole of the fifth floor and half the sixth floor at the landmark Orbit scheme, which since January has also been home to an 86-bedroom Travelodge hotel, developed in a £5m project.

Around 220 Capita staff will work at Regent House. Rhys Owen, leasing surveyor at Orbit, said: “Capita Travel and Events’ move, together with the space Travelodge has taken and the successful letting of a further four floors of smaller suites means Regent is now over 90% full.”

Regent House is one of 12 commercial properties in Orbit Developments’ Stockport portfolio.

The building has undergone wholesale refurbishment in recent years, with a remodelled reception area and a building manager and security team being introduced.

Capita Travel & Events has been built up since 2005 with the acquisition of a number of travel management companies such as Expotel. It now turns over £500m and employs 850 people.
