Capita Symonds co-locate to The Observatory

Capita Symonds Real Estate is bringing together its two Manchester offices into one building after signing a lease for 6,119 sq ft on the eighth floor of The Observatory in Manchester city centre.

The ObservatoryThis is the first co-location of regional accommodation for Capita Symonds since its acquisition of NB Real Estate in 2010.

The move will bring together approximately 60 employees who are currently working for clients such as Axa, BBC, University of Manchester, McDonalds Restaurants, British Library and LaSalle Investment Management.

Nick Gregory, director for Capita Symonds, said: "The Observatory is going to provide Capita Symonds with a better environment in which to work – modern, well appointed accommodation, with great facilities and views. Being in one location will help us to build our presence in the North West and to communicate to clients the broader service offer they can now access through Capita Symonds Real Estate, which in turn presents new business opportunities for the team."

Chris Lloyd, associate director at DTZ, who represented the landlord USS, added: "This is an important letting for us as it underpins the strength of The Observatory's location and is the first letting since the comprehensive refurbishment of the reception and vacant floors."

Employees currently occupy offices in Sunlight House and Fountain Street in Manchester city centre. The new office space is currently under fit out and will be ready for occupation in late October 2011.

DTZ and LSH represented USS. Capita Symonds was unrepresented. Details of the rental agreement was undisclosed.
