Canmoor completes Heywood deals

Canmoor has secured 50,000 sq ft of lettings at Heywood Distribution Park in Rochdale.

Logistics giant Kuehne & Nagel took 41,900 sq ft in addition to its existing presence at Heywood, which Canmoor and investment partner Harbert acquired from Segro last year along with significant holdings at Trafford Park. FAM Commercials, a vehicle breakdown firm, took 9,180 sq ft.

Hazel Lambert, leasing manager at Canmoor, said: "Canmoor's strategy to continue to refurbish and develop property at Heywood Distribution Park and Trafford Park will allow for growth of existing customers, whilst attracting new customers to the portfolio."

Neil Buck, general manager at Kuehne & Nagel, said: "As an existing customer with Canmoor it made sense to expand at Heywood Distribution Park as we can manage and monitor stock more effectively. The park's security and location are one of the reasons why our client chose to bring their additional storage to us."

Michael Scott, director of FAM Commercials, said: "We needed to relocate our business very quickly and Hazel promised that Canmoor could make the leasing process very quick and easy for us. Every time scale that was promised was met. It's early days but we feel we have made a very good decision moving onto Heywood Distribution Park."

At Trafford Park, Canmoor has signed Globe Transport Products, a specialist supplier of replacement truck parts for Scania, Volvo and DAF commercial vehicles to 2,470 sq ft at Longwood Park.

Jones Lang LaSalle and B8 Real Estate are the retained agents on Longwood Park, Trafford Park. Jones Lang LaSalle, B8 Real Estate and Savills are the retained agents on Heywood Distribution Park.

Richard Johnson, associate director, industrial and logistics, at Jones Lang LaSalle, said: "We have had an encouraging start to quarter one 2013 due to our large market share in the North West and having quality instructions in sought-after locations. Trafford Park and Heywood Distribution Park are prime examples and continue to attract occupiers due to the right mix of transport connectivity, infrastructure and service offering."
