Canalside scheme gets go-ahead in Litherland

Canalside Developments has gained planning permission for 43 town houses and 12 apartments on the site of a former warehouse and tannery on Field Lane, Litherland in Sefton.

The scheme is a variation on outline planning permission granted in 2006 for 72 two and three storey units.

Cllr Ian Moncur, chair of Sefton's planning committee, said: "This development will replace an unsightly and contaminated sight with a modern canalside housing scheme.

"It also features less units than the previous outline scheme and is therefore expected to generate less traffic in the local area."
