Canalside JV completes Lancaster project

Specialist public-private joint venture H20 Urban has finished a £2.4m family housing development in Lancaster next to Aldcliffe Road and Lancaster Canal.

Contractor Construction Partnership UK transformed a disused historic canal wharf in the centre of the city into a parade of new homes along with conversions of the listed Packet Boat House and blacksmith’s shop. There are 14 houses in total ranging from three to five bedrooms.

The development, called Aldcliffe Yard, is in a conservation area and the design and delivery had to be sympathetic to its heritage setting while also enhancing the local community.

H20 Urban is a joint venture between the Canal & River Trust and property company Bloc.

The project was designed by Manchester-based PRP Architects.

The access to this site was terrible, so very well done to all concerned in resolving the issue and completing it.
