A residential scheme in Hale by Altrincham-based architectural practice Calderpeel won this year's Trafford Council design award.
The Lillies on South Downs Drive in Hale was praised for "outstanding modelling and use of materials, the subtleties of design of each elevation and its contribution to the street scene".
Tom Mulroy, an architect at Calderpeel said: "It's important a local planning authority recognises the impact of design to enhance the borough and develop individual sites on their own merit. We've been developing our designs over a number of years and hope to improve even further in the future."
The winner of the People's Design Award was Bankhall House in Hale, designed by Arc Design Services. There were also two highly commended schemes: Metro Sports and Social Club in Stretford, by Bowker Sadler Partnership; and Four Beeches in Bowdon designed by Fallows Gowen Partnership.
Chairman of the council's planning committee, Cllr Viv Ward, said: "All the entries were of an excellent standard and demonstrated the emphasis we place on high quality design and construction when approving new buildings in Trafford. I would like to congratulate all the shortlisted entrants and look forward to celebrating more outstanding new buildings in the future."
