C-TEC’s new head office completes

Alarm manufacturer C-TEC has completed the move into its new £1.5m head office in Wigan, designed by Liverpool-based K2 Architects.

The 73,000 sq ft headquarters in Challenge Way, Martland Park combines three buildings into a single refurbished space including offices and manufacturing facilities C-TEC employs 200 people and makes a range of domestic and commercial safety alarms.

Mark Davies, director of K2 Architects, said: "Our brief was to create a world class facility that reflected the ethos of the company as a global manufacturer. C-TEC required a building that was inspirational, functional and at the forefront of innovation."

He continued: "C-TEC's manufacturing, distribution and R&D functions are now housed alongside open plan office accommodation and conference facilities in one building. This required us to design several highly specialised work areas including 18,000 sq ft of open, dry laboratory space containing electronic equipment, accurate temperature and humidity control along with clean power."

C-TEC was previously based in nearby Stephens Way.
