Matthew Burl has joined the practice as associate director, having previously worked establishing Manchester offices of Hawkins\Brown and John McAslan + Partners.
At Buttress, Burl will be responsible for the development of the practice’s education team. He will also lead on higher education and independent schools projects.
He spent more than three years at the Manchester office of Hawkins\Brown and previously worked for 14 years at John McAslan.
At Hawkins\Brown he was involved in a number of higher education projects including Leeds Beckett University’s Creative Arts Building, the new student centre and university squares at UCLan, and the Schuster Annexe for the University of Manchester.
