A planning application has been submitted for a fourth speculative industrial unit at the £50m Burnley Bridge Business Park, being developed by Eshton at Junction 9 of the M65.
Block C of Magnesium Court will add 10,000 sq ft of floorspace to the current 29,000 sq ft of blocks A and B which, together with the 64,100 sq ft Cobalt Building, forms phase one of the 70-acre site.
James Chapman, managing director of Eshton, said: "The high level of interest received on the initial build has confirmed confidence in the market. By providing further speculative space in a phased manner, we are responding directly to pent-up demand for quality product and location.
"Burnley Bridge Business Park is the largest commercial development along the M65 corridor for a decade and has already become a hotly tipped location both regionally and nationally."
Commencement of Block C means that there will be uninterrupted construction; blocks A and B of Magnesium Court and the Cobalt Building are nearing completion.
Magnesium Court Block C will offer flexible space that can be let as a single 10,000 sq ft unit, or be divided into smaller units.
Construction of the first phase at Burnley Bridge Business Park was partly funded by £3.85m from the European Regional Development Fund.
Once complete, the business park will provide 680,000 sq ft of industrial property.
The Lancashire Enterprise Partnership invested £2m for highway access and infrastructure work at Burnley Bridge.
Ideally situated on the outskirts of Burnley and at Junction 9 of the M65, Burnley Bridge Business Park is the largest industrial park development on the M65 corridor for more than a decade.
Designed and masterplanned by KPP Architects, phase one construction and infrastructure work is being delivered by Leeds-based GMI Construction Group and Preston-based Eric Wright Civil Engineering.
