Leeds-based construction company GMI has been appointed to build and refurbish two industrial units as part of phase one of Burnley Bridge Business Park on the M65.

Magnesium Court will comprise 29,000 sq ft of a new-build while the refurbished Cobalt Building will be 64,100 sq ft.

Meanwhile the new bridge linking the development to Junction 9 of the motorway across the Leeds-Liverpool Canal is due to be lowered into place this week. Eric Wright Civil Engineering is the contractor.

The warehouse development is due for completion in February 2014.
