Buoyant FK in swoop for supplier

Altrincham-based building envelope contractor FK Group has acquired Premo Fabrications for an undisclosed sum, announcing in addition that its turnover is expected to pass the £100m mark.

FK said that its results for the year to 31 March 2019 should show sales for the 12-month period to be around £107m, a 60% increase year-on-year, with pre-tax profit at £2.5m.

Premo Fabrications, a long-standing partner of the group, is a specialist in the design and manufacture of aluminium architectural fabrications, rainscreen, windows, doors and curtain walling. FK said that the deal marks a significant move, with a visible commitment to off site development and increased sustainability within its supply chain.

Francis Keenan, chief executive, said: “We have had another impressive year, thanks to the dedication and commitment of our people and partners. We continue to prove our capabilities in providing the complete building envelope solution.

“Our pipeline for 2019-2020 is solid, with over £80m worth of projects secured, so we remain positive about the future.”

The group includes FK Construction and FK Facades and has won work on large distribution centres, with clients including Amazon and B&M. The group also works in city centre residential and student accommodation, with projects including Circle Square and MediaCityUK. Office projects delivered include 2 St Peter’s Square, Manchester.
