Manchester City Council last night approved the development of 550 apartments, a hotel and 350,000 sq ft of offices at planning committee.
At the 20-acre NOMA site, the Co-operative Group and Hermes Real Estate were granted planning consent for 350,000 sq ft of offices split over two blocks. Two and Three Angel Square will be nine-storeys and 11-storeys high respectively. Both were designed by AHR Architects. Deloitte was the planner.
The committee members also approved the development of a 35-storey tower with 330 apartments for private rent at 10-12 Whitworth Street West by Brigantes, designed by 5plus Architects.
In the Northern Quarter, the planning authority gave approval for a 116-bed EasyHotel within the grade two-listed Bradley House. EasyHotel acquired the building in June. HOW Planning advised EasyHotel.
Kildareman Development Company’s proposed 13-storey tower made up of 119-apartments, two ground floor retail units and a gym was also granted permission. The scheme is bounded by Great Ancoats Street and will include a new public square. IDP Group is the architect.
