Bucklow Hill pub and hotel up for sale

The Swan pub and its associated Premier Inn on Bucklow Hill near Knutsford is on the market with the site potentially to be redeveloped for housing, care, or retirement living.

Its owner Whitbread has instructed Gerald Eve to market the 3.2-acre site off Mereside and Chester roads on a freehold basis; it includes a 68-bed Premier Inn along with the Brewer’s Fayre pub south of Altrincham, with a combined area of nearly 39,000 sq ft.

Chester Road was one of the key routes between south Manchester and Cheshire but has since been superseded by improvements to the A556.

Whitbread purchased the site in the mid-2000s but the hotel owner was reported to be mulling a sale of some of its Premier Inn portfolio earlier this year.
