BTP boosts conservation expertise

BTP Architects has appointed Adrian Pearson as a senior conservation architect.

Pearson was formerly a director at architect Lloyds Evans Prichard, leading award-winning conservation projects including at St James Church in New Brighton.

BTP said it aimed for the hire to provide a shared network of clients and technical knowledge in order to compete for conservation projects nationally.

Pearson will also work on building BTP’s conservation portfolio and pushing on increased use of technology in the conservation field, including BIM and 3D modelling.

Pearson said: “I am naturally delighted to be joining BTP. The practice is at the forefront in many areas of the industry, with an impressive track record working on historic buildings.

“I am very much look forward to a successful future as part of the BTP family and feel confident I can add to the growing reputation the business has garnered in the years ahead.”

Pearson’s previous projects include grade one-listed sites such as Heaton Park in Greater Manchester, All Saints Church at Barton in Irwell, and the regeneration of the grade two-listed Stanley Park in Liverpool.

Stockport-based BTP works in areas such as housing design, building reuse and conservation.

Recent projects include the design and delivery of 70 supported units across four sites in Manchester for people with diverse learning needs, and an extensive refurbishment project to the Victoria Law Courts in Birmingham city centre.
