Bruntwood marketing manager goes it alone
Matt Leigh, who heads up property marketing strategy at Bruntwood, is to leave and set up his own consultancy.
Leigh will leave at the end of this month to set up Matt Leigh Industries. The move is the latest shake-up of the marketing team at the dominant office landlord in Manchester and Liverpool. Kate Harrison, former acting chief executive of Manchester city centre management agency Cityco, took over from Simon Scott in November as group marketing director. Scott had departed to move to Canada with his family and now runs marketing and communications at Calgary Zoo.
Leigh said: "Having gained so much experience with Bruntwood, the time now feels right to set up on my own, providing consultancy, project management and practical day-to-day delivery across the entire marketing mix. In times likes these it's important businesses remain focused on their marketing and I'll be in a strong position to provide cost effective solutions to those organisations looking to create brand new, or enhance existing, marketing strategy."
Whilst Matt Leigh Industries will specialise in commercial property marketing, it also plans to provide services to companies outside of that sector.
Leigh added: "I've been exposed to a huge amount during my career so far, not all of it property related. At Bruntwood I've had the privilege of working with a range of organisations such as Heathcotes, The Commonwealth Games, The Royal Exchange, Cow Parade, West Yorkshire Playhouse and The Piccadilly Partnership, all of which has helped develop my practical, commercial and creative approach to marketing. Indeed, whilst products and their target audiences may differ, the fundamental principles of marketing remain the same."
Matt Leigh will be leaving Bruntwood on 31 March with Matt Leigh Industries, based in Bolton, being fully operation in April.
Congratulations, hope it goes well
