Bruntwood appoints Oxford Road lead

Following last month's acquisition of the former BBC site on Oxford Road from Realty, the developer has recruited Alan Burke to head up the co-ordination of the project, which will include a design competition.

Burke was a director of Ask Developments before setting up his own business.

Chris Roberts, development director of Bruntwood and Manchester Science Partnerships, said: "The vision [for the site] includes 700,000 sq ft of commercial space as well as new public open space, retail, a hotel, car parking and high quality residential accommodation.

"Alan is well placed to support the team, having specialised over a 30-year period in the identification and delivery of major capital projects as well numerous urban regeneration initiatives.

"We will be announcing our detailed site masterplan in due course together with the launch of a design competition."
