Bruntwood appoints new marketing boss
Kate Harrison, acting chief executive of Cityco, Manchester’s city centre management company, has been named marketing director of Bruntwood.
Harrison, 40, has previously held senior positions at Sainsbury’s, Mars and Manchester Airports Group.
She replaces Simon Scott, who left Bruntwood earlier this year to move to Canada with his family. Scott recently found employment in Canada as marketing director of Calgary zoo.
Bruntwood owns 90 buildings in Manchester, Liverpool, Leeds, and Birmingham. Chris Oglesby, Bruntwood chief executive, said “I am delighted to welcome Kate to the team. As we take the Bruntwood brand, with its long-term investment perspective and focus on the customer, into a wider national marketplace, it is essential that we are fully articulating the benefits of our unique business model to investors and customers alike.
“Kate is a very talented marketer, and her experience will be invaluable as we roll out the brand in our established cities and beyond.”
Harrison added: “Bruntwood is a very well-respected Manchester company. I’m excited by the company’s ambitious aspirations and look forward to developing the Bruntwood brand further. I have thoroughly enjoyed my time at Cityco and now we’re in the later stages of appointing a permanent chief executive, the time is right to move on to a new challenge.”
Bruntwood completed a £480m refinancing against 48 assets in its portfolio in January 2007 before the credit crunch had arrived.
