Bramall appointed for £20m Kings Park project

The Speke-based construction firm has been selected for the refurbishment of three tower blocks in Seaforth in Sefton, as part of a £20m scheme by One Vision Housing.

Bramall Construction, part of the Keepmoat group, is the sole contractor to refurbish Montgomery House on Claremont Road, Churchill House and Alexander House on Sandy Road over a four year period.

As part of the Kings Park regeneration project, Bramall will increase the tower blocks from 15 to 18 storeys in height.

Bramall will build 109 new apartments alongside the existing 174 units. The remodelled tower blocks will also benefit from new lifts, double glazing, and a door entry system to replace existing services.

Bramall, working in partnership with structural engineers Sutcliffe, is set to start work on the project in March and landscaping and environmental improvements will take place in the areas surrounding the tower blocks.

Plans for the 3.7-acre Kings Park regeneration project were approved by the Government Office for the North West.

Steve Parrington, Bramall's area director, said: "This is a very significant contract win for Bramall Construction as it will help us to enhance our portfolio and track record in high rise refurbishment.

"We are proud to be working on such a high profile project of this scale which will create attractive homes where people are proud to live and will in turn help transform Seaforth and bring about improvements throughout the area.

"Bramall is strongly committed to creating local labour, training and employment opportunities in Seaforth as part of the scheme and is keen to help transform the local area at grass roots level."
