Rachel Watkin, a specialist property and chancery litigation lawyer with 13 years experience, has joined Brabners Chaffe Street as a partner in Liverpool.
Watkin launched Halliwells' property litigation team in Liverpool. Previously she did the same at Hill Dickinson's Chester office.
At Brabners Chaffe Street, she will head up a team of nine, which the firm claims is the largest property litigation team in the city.
Watkin's notable cases include the Court of Appeal cases of Williams v Sandy Lane (Chester) Limited (2006) and Margerison v Bates (2008), both of which have become key authorities. She is also a regular presenter on the RICS lecture circuits for the Northern and Wales regions.
Mark Brandwood, managing partner at Brabners Chaffe Street, said: "Rachel will bring valuable expertise and a wealth of experience to our property litigation team. She has an excellent reputation and brings with her a proven track record of success. Her appointment reflects our commitment to continuing to grow our team and expand our offering to clients."
Watkin said: "I am looking forward to taking up a new challenge at Brabners Chaffe Street. Having already proven my ability to build a team, it will be a refreshing change to work with an established team that is already going from strength to strength. I am looking forward to becoming an integral part of the firm as we work towards the continued growth of the business."
