Bovis’ Northern boss leaves

Construction giant Bovis Lend Lease has reshuffled its senior management in the UK with the departure of Tony Lenehan as North of England director, according to reports.

Building magazine claims to have seen an internal memo which says Lenehan has left the company and Julian Daniel has taken over as general manager of England and Wales. No one from Bovis was available when contacted by Place today.

In June, Bovis said UK chief executive Nick Pollard, was stepping down. The search for his permanent replacement is continuing.

Bovis is currently completing phase one of Media City in Salford Quays for long-time client Peel. However, construction market observers say Bovis is not winning its usual share of the large contracts in the region, losing out to rivals such as Laing O'Rourke, on Manchester Town Hall Extension, and BAM, the new Co-operative Group headquarters, recently.
