Borough Care relocates in Stockport

Care home provider Borough Care is relocating to a new headquarters in Stockport after acquiring Stanley House at Acorn Business Park for an undisclosed sum.

The 4,383 sq ft unit will house all of the administration team for its 12 care homes throughout Stockport and its growing community based services for older people.

Borough Care is relocating from Lisburne House in Alfreton Road, Stockport, to the purpose built property considered more accessible for Borough Care's employees, as it is much closer to Stockport town centre and its transport links. The property was acquired from ASE.

Oliver Thomas, senior building surveyor at GVA Grimley, acting on behalf of Borough Care, said: "With an in-depth understanding of Borough Care's business we were able to put together a team that incorporated David Spinks of Squire Sanders Hammonds, legal advisors, to guide Borough Care through each stage of the acquisition process and broker the best deal on their behalf."

Christine Rush, from Borough Care, added: "We utilised our already strong relationship with GVA, who have undertaken numerous new-build and refurbishment schemes for us in the past, to establish our optimum requirement and to search the market. Using GVA's team of professionals to manage and expedite the acquisition process, we were able to complete the deal by the end of 2010."

The previous owner of Stanley House was not disclosed.
