The half-day event on 4 April at the Science & Industry Museum, Manchester, will examine at the biggest trends, projects, Government policies and Local Plans pushing for increased residential construction across the country. As Government pushes for higher housing targets, locally battle lines are drawn between housebuilders and communities over the use of key sites. But how can property professionals ensure targets are met?
Place RESI is consistently one of Place North West‘s most popular events; last year it attracted 350 property professionals, providing a prime networking opportunity as well as a chance to get updated on the most significant projects under way across the region.

The morning event will include a series of presentations, in which leading architects will present their designs for a selection of the largest residential schemes coming forward in the region, including the 6,000-home Great Jackson Street masterplan in Manchester, the 600-apartment Great George Street proposal in Liverpool, and the 500-home plans at Wirral Waters’ East float Dock.
There will also be three themed panel discussions on the following topics:
- The case for homes will look at how the planning system and regeneration policies impact residential proposals in the early stages, and how local councils can enable the delivery of a greater number and variety of homes
- Developers doing things differently will bring together a range of developers using different models to get homes out of the ground
- Finally, the future housing panel will discuss how the market needs to change in order to address the challenge of affordability, alongside creating homes for a growing, and discerning, ageing population
