Bolton workshop on preparing tenders

A free training course is being held in the Greater Manchester town to help businesses understand how to tender for council contracts.

Business Bolton, the council's one-stop shop for all business-related services, is holding a three hour session which will look at how to prepare a proper written tender.

Mark Frost, managing director of Tenders-UK, will explain how to approach the key elements needed to create a winning tender.

Business Bolton officers will also be on hand to provide free advice and information.

The council manages its tenders through The Chest, which is the North West's local authority internet based procurement portal.

Companies have to be registered on The Chest in order to bid for council work.

The portal system enables suppliers to view all forthcoming contract opportunities for Bolton.

Cllr Ismail Ibrahim, Bolton Council's executive member for development and regeneration, said: "We want to make sure that our local companies get all the support and help they need to bid for contracts.

"They play a vital role in the local economy and attending this free workshop will give them the best possible understanding of how to put together a winning written tender."

The workshop is on Thursday 27 January from 6pm to 9pm at the Castle Hill Training Centre on Castleton Street, Bolton.
