Bolton names maintenance frameworks

Bolton Council has named the contractors for five new frameworks to carry out maintenance and landscaping works across the borough.

The first framework is for joinery work. The total estimated value of the works is £450,000.

The contractors will supply and fit doors, repair kitchen units, reception desks and counters, and construct and install Disability Discrimination Act internal ramps for disabled access.

The chosen companies were:

  • Jackson, Jackson & Sons, Rochdale
  • AGR, Bolton
  • H Timmins, Manchester

The second framework is for painting and decorating. Total estimated value of the works is £300,000.

The work involves decorating doors, doorframes, furniture, skirting boards, reveals and window frames. This will include consulting with CPS regards arrangements for colours schemes and timetabling works.

The chosen companies were:

  • Bell Group, Chorley
  • Seddon, Stoke-on-Trent
  • SML, Preston
  • Simmons Services, Liverpool

The third framework is for plastering works. The total estimated value of the work is £30,000.
The work involves the installation, repair and restoration of coving, cornices, corbels and roses.

This could be in a listed building and my require liaison with the Bolton Council's conservation section.

The chosen companies were:

  • Mercer Brothers, Bolton
  • Heightvale, Bolton
  • Hughes Brothers, Leigh
  • W Monks, Preston

The fourth framework is for hard landscaping.

The work involves preparation for new surface installations as well and corrections to existing installations, for example lifting and relaying flags.

The chosen companies were:

  • J Cooney, Rochdale
  • Groundwork Landscapes, Bury
  • Bethell Group, Bolton

The fifth framework is for soft landscaping. The total estimated value of the work is £90,000.

The work involves reactive maintenance and repair, as well as contracted maintenance and repair, of all types of shutter doors.

The chosen companies were:

  • Jackson, Jackson & Sons, Rochdale
  • Landscape Engineering, Burnley
  • Groundwork Landscapes, Bury
  • PJ Carney, Bury
