Bolton College tenders for £3m welding centre

Bolton College is tendering for the construction of a 19,375 sq ft two storey motor vehicle and fabrication and welding centre.

The college said the new build is part of the final phase of its wider further education redevelopment on Deane Road.

The contract is worth £3.7m and the building will offer a split of practical workshop and classrooms, along with 'break-out spaces' and learning resource centres.

Bolton College currently holds its courses in motor vehicle and welding at the Horwich Motor Vehicle Centre, located on Victoria Road in Horwich.

The new build is part of an overall £90m scheme that will see Bolton Community College and Bolton Sixth Form College sit side-by-side on Deane Road at the heart of the town's £300m Innovation Zone.

Deadline for submitting tenders is 12pm on Thursday 9 June.
