Bolton car park could be turned into 116 homes

Wright Investments and Queensbridge Homes have submitted plans to the council to convert the Crown Street MSCP into a mixed-use building with retail units, apartments, and ground floor and rooftop townhouses.

Max Design Consultancy designed the scheme, known as the Link Building. The company drew inspiration from Bolton’s cotton mill buildings and an MSCP in Bordeaux. Architects there created a roof extension that was inspired by traditional houses in the area.

In addition to having townhouses, the roof area would also be a green space for residents to enjoy.

The Link Building would have 14 one-bedroom, 86 two-bedroom, and 16 three-bedroom homes.

Under the proposal, there would still be 93 car park spaces. However, they would largely be for resident use only.

The three proposed retail units would be separate from the residential portion of the project, with no access to amenity spaces.
