Blackpool reshuffles regen as France departs

Blackpool Council's regeneration department has undergone a restructuring as part of its budget reduction measures.

Helen France, director of regeneration, has left and her duties have been split between two other council executives.

Alan Cavill, formerly assistant director of tourism and economy, becomes assistant chief executive of regeneration, tourism and culture. John Donnellon, previously assistant director of housing, planning and transport is now service director of the built environment.

The changed structure came into effect on 1 July.

France joined Blackpool from Knowsley Council in 2008. Her previous roles included a directorship at the North West Development Agency.
