Blackpool housing scheme moves ahead

Construction is due to start in March on the latest phase of a residential development by Muir Group Housing Association to replace eyesore flats in Blackpool's Grange Park with family homes.

Forshaw AvenueThe £1.3m phase was granted planning consent in January and will contain 26 two- and three-bedroom houses on land between Forshaw Avenue and Gateside Drive. The homes are scheduled to be ready for occupation in spring 2012.

The homes were designed by Croft Goode Architects to meet Level 3 of the Code for Sustainable Homes and will be available under shared ownership and affordable rent.

The development is funded by the Homes & Communities Agency.
