Morgan Sindall subsidiary Lovell and Liverpool-based Condy & Lofthouse Architects have been selected by Blackpool Council as preferred developer for the £22m redevelopment of the Queens Park estate.
The selected developer and architect will create 198 houses and apartments on the council-owned estate over the next six years, replacing five tower blocks and other existing homes which are set to be demolished.
The new development will be made up of 108 houses and 90 apartments, 60 of which have been specially designed to convert to 30 family homes at a later stage. It will feature a series of urban squares with trees to mark a pedestrian route connecting to the wider neighbourhood.
Energy-efficient features, including low-energy ventilation systems and condensing boilers, have been included to meet Level 3 of the Code for Sustainable Homes.
